The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) has established plans for a new journal titled Microbiology Spectrum, set to launch in spring of 2021.
The focus of Microbiology Spectrum will be to share published research that has been peer reviewed and will maintain a high standard of methodology. The peer review process for authors will be quick, intensive, and fair. Categories for the journal will include Clinical Science and Epidemiology, Applied and Environmental Science, Ecological and Evolutionary Science, Synthetic Biology, Host-Microbe Biology, Molecular Biology and Physiology, and Therapeutics and Prevention.
Composed of over 30,000 scientific professionals, ASM is one of the largest scientific societies dedicated to life sciences. ASM works to promote microbial sciences through conferences, publications, and various educational and advocacy endeavors. The editorial team at ASM will also work with authors to not only allow them to publish their peer review records, but will connect raw data to their published work as well.
