Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Professor Amarjit Singh’s article, “Organizational Power in Perspective,” was published in Leadership and Management in Engineering in 2009. It includes a review and analysis of the concepts of power in management literature, a description of power styles and classical research findings on the optimum use of power. The high number of downloads is a measure of the acceptance and value of the published article.

“It is a fortunate achievement and great honor to be among the two highest downloads of the hundreds of thousands of articles published by ASCE,” Singh said.

The data for the downloads was collected from 2016 after ASCE moved to a new platform. The article was also selected as the runner-up for the ASCE Journal’s 2009 Best Paper Award. ASCE was started in 1852 and is the nation’s oldest engineering society.
